Hi Cees,
I have not been able to find any proof from official sources about Windermere. It's quite shallow and if anything was in there I would have thought it'd been documented a long time ago.
Lough Neagh in N Ireland DOES have Catlinas and certainly parts of Sunderlands too but I have never dived in it (Too far & too murky!)!
Cheers
Elliott
: Hi all,
:
: There are many stories about wartime aircraft in UK lakes,
: either as a result of accidents, sinking of flying boats
: or dumping (remember Loch Ness).
:
: For instance Lake Windermere is supposed to have a large n
: umber of flying boats such as Sunderlands and Catalinas on
: its bottom. Now and again rumours has it that there are p
: lans to do something about these and then again these rumo
: urs dissapear almost as quickly.
:
: Can anyone actually confirm that these aircraft do exist a
: nd in what condition would they be in?
