Hi All,

Eversince I started reading FlyPast (1983) there have been many articles about aircraft to be found. Sadly I must say that very rarely there were any activities in recovering these aircraft. The Sunderlands, Catalina's, Defiant, Whitley etc all to be found within the UK are still there (or supposed to be there). The only thing that happens is that once in a while the stories are talked about (as on this forum) and then nothing is heard again until some years later etc.

I know from experience that there are a lot of difficulties in even considering trying to recover the aircraft. But as there is always a lot of interest for these sites, it should be just a matter of time before someone steps in and
does something about it. Or is it just that the aircraft in question are considered not that important because there is already an example on museum display?

Cees
