Warbird Losses: Static vs. Flying

After reading about all the aircraft that burned up in France, I have to wonder.
Does anyone have any idea what the proportion of warbirds lost to flying accidents is vs. static ones lost in museum fires?
I believe there was a fire in Canada recently (?) that also claimed a large number of aircraft as well.
So which poses the greater risk for the health of warbirds: flying or being embalmed and shoehorned into a museum along with large numbers of other aircraft in a combustible building?
I have the impression it's safer in the air! :)
