Stalin ordered all foreign equipment scrapped in the late forties , mostly for political reasons. Also aluminium was in high demand for the new generation of Mig jet fighters.
Unfortunately most of the gems at the Moscow Museum were scrapped [He100 , Me110 etc].
Luckily some slipped through the net , and it was reported that the test aircraft in the Zhukoskvy Institute survived till the seventies ... but unconfirmed reports say that collection was also scrapped.
Certainly possible that these orders were not carried out in places far from Moscow and as everyone knows Russia is a huge place , full of military bases and old hangars ;-)
