It's about time that someone starts doing something to these "airframes" (don't know if they could be called that or just a heap op bits) instead of pushing them around and trying to get as much money for them as possible.
What the Dutch AF Museum is concerned, although they are named just like that, they have no authority whatsoever to order an airframe and start swapping things. They only get the spoils (when lucky) from the Dutch AF.
Last year when I visited the museum (which is actually quite interesting) I noticed that the Spitfire was lacking an oil temperature gauge. I had one so I approached someone of the staff and told him that I would give it to them provided the would fit it into the hole in the instrument panel, but my offer was turned down and not in a polite manner. Sometime I wonder where their arrogance is based on.
