The people you have to worry about are those that claim the provenance but are not prepared to share the provenance. Importing spurious Spitfires from some such country, claiming a RAF serial designator and, in the public domain, aerojumbles/press etc, appealing for parts - the years roll by, the serial starts to appear in type registers and gets repeated and repeated and lo - a bunch of parts becomes a high value Spitfire project starter kit with provenance and construction number. Entry in the next Warbirds Directory?Step forward mug with money.
