The Me262 was originally sole property of the Air Museum (POF). Mr. Maloney recued the plane as a derelict way back in the 1950's (if I remember correctly). I believe at the time it was a derelict training aid at a technical school, and was recovered along with two A6M's and a couple of other extremely rare examples by Mr. Maloney.
At the time P.O.F. sold the plane I remember being under the clear assumption that it did in fact go to the Flying Heritage Collection. I believe its sale was partly decided upon to help finance the construction of P.O.F.'s new museum facility (an exciting prospect in itself!).
Does anyone recall any differently? Chances are if no one can "officially" confirm who actually took delivery of the plane - it was probably the FHC :)
