But it always seems...

In reply top I agree with what you wrote, completely, but you posted by Karen on Wed Jun 05, 2002 03:18:45 PM

...that when you get the opportunity to talk to a fighter pilot vet, they always seem to talk about the aircraft they flew the most in their career as being "the best there every was". So you could easily imaging that the pilots of todays F-14s, F-15s, F-16s, F-18s, F-22s, Mirages, Eurofighters, Tornados, etc... will be taking their Grandchildren to the airshows in the future to see "their" planes. So the interest will be there. But then out from behind the trees or a cloud a Mustang, Spit or Hurricane appears. One high speed pass of a Merlin and the spell would be cast! :-)

P.S. Excellant reply Rob.

: misunderstood my question.
:
: I, too believe all generations, should, and hopefully
: will feel as strongly in the future, about WWII warbirds,
: as so many do today.
:
: What I wonder about, is whether today's aircraft can
: evoke the same emotions, and feelings that the WWII planes
: do now.
:
: Personally, for all the reason's both, you, and Mike
: outline, plus some other's, I do not see how there could p
: ossibly be as much interest in the plane's of today.
:
: Great answer Rob.
: Best wishes,
: Karen
