Answers to P-40 question below

Guys

I have place this answer to the P-40 questions on its own so that everybody can see rather than hid it the lot below.

Firstly the P-40 in question cannot be 42-104818, as this is alive and well and not in the US. This aircraft shown is also a late model N not an N-1CU as 42-104818 is.

At best guess is that this aircraft is one (of 5 ex RAAF)covered from PNG. Of these airframes, A29-448 is alive and well and flying in NZ, as I stated above A20-405/42-104818 is also alive and is being being held outside the US. A29-556 is the base airframe of the RAF museums static restoration. So this leaves two other ex RAAF airframes recovered of the 5. So this aircraft is either A29-528 or A29-1210. Both of these airframes were late model P-40N's so that is not help. After checking other in it is thought that A29-528/42-105710 is with David Tallichet, which leaves the only RAAF possiblity as A29-1210 which was a P-40N-40CU. If A29-1210 this aircraft actually crashed into the Jungles of PNG and was recovered as a mangled (but nopt ruined) airframe.

Hope it this answers a couple of the questions asked below, and possibly identify the three airframes that were in Txas in the 1990's (ie A29-405/42-104818, A29-556, and A29-1210)
