Hi Chris,

We have several drop tanks on display at our museum based at Fort Veldhuis among which are 1 1/2 paper droptanks in very good condition, a metal droptank as used by Mustangs as well as two German droptanks which were used by Me-262's. Recently we also acquired a steel droptank as used by P-47, this tank is of steel and very crude but it apparently worked during the war, it was converted into a stange form of canoe.

Of course they were expendable (the droptanks that is)
