: Cees,

Werner L. Blasel, one of the people involved with the restoration of the DASA 109, has written some books on its restoration. As I understand it the lower cowling was built form scratch while the upper part of the cowling is largely an original part found in France.

Greetings,

Harm-Jan Strating
: Looking at the pictures of the DASA Buchon/109 makes me wo
: nder about the nose contours.
:
: As I understand the first rebuild was carried out by Willi
: ams Flugzeugbau in Germany. Photo's I saw showed that the
: nose was totally inaccurate and really looked awful. The s
: econd rebuild as far as I know used another airframe as a
: result of the former being unusable. The nose contours of
: this restoration look very accurate to me. The close up ph
: otographs however show that the various small nose-intakes
: are a bit crude.
:
: Does anyone know if they used original parts for the secon
: d rebuild or did they make new ones. This is not meant to
: be nitpicking but I am just curious how they got it right
: the second time.
:
: Dave/Lynn perhaps?
