You are totally right. DH-88 Comet G-ACESS for example is only about 15% original, if that. Hmmm maybe she should not have been restored - it doesn't look like any of the parts were saved. I was offered what is supposed to be an original panel from her the other day.

In the end, the only parts that won't be time expired will be data plates and other non-structural components like seats, switches etc.

So theorectically, if the BoBF kept all the discarded bits of Spit, Hurri and Lanc, they would end up with two flights, although one would be static and more original!

Just a thought...
