: still operational, at Stansted, on 4th April).

As I recall (OK, as I read the other day) a couple of C-133s disappeared into the ocean - presumably inspection of other airframes pinpointed fatigue; yet there were several civilian ones hauling freight in Alaska for quite a while - may still fly for all I know. Magnificent aircraft!

Shame about the Belfast - another magnificent aircraft. Perhaps Heavylift would donate it to the cause? One of theirs has an illustrious history, bringing the Collings Foundation B-24 from India to Stansted for Doug Arnold.

Another option would be the CL-44-0 which I believe is still just about airworthy (the last straight CL-44 pranged recently). Could you get a dismanteld B-17 in that?

I still hanker after a warbird airlift service...

Cheers!
