...... it shows that the 190-wing is built in lower halves with most of the internal gear and, the upper skins with stringers (I believe that?s what they?re called in english) are attached to them in a jig. (It could be the other way around but, I don?t think so.)
Take note of my use of plural, there is a left half and a right half, bolted together at the vertical centerline.
I?ve compared two drawings, one of the initial small span wing and one of the larger span wing. There?s a difference in the front spar design.
The small span wing has a straight spar, bent backwards close to the tip. Neither the front spar nor the rear spar seem to go through the fuselage.
The larger span wing has a different front spar design going straight through the fuselage at right angles to the longitudinal centerline. At the fuselage sides it bends forwards towards the landing gear attachment points and from there it bends backwards again to follow the wing leading edge.
The rear spar is basically the same as in the small span wing, not going through the fuselage.
In the video, only one half of the wing is shown, apart from the close up of the centerline joint.
When this half is taken out of the jig it looks as there is an attachment point for (kind of) a stub spar.
This is in analogy with the part numbers on the drawing of the small span wing:
Rumpf (fuselage) 190.00-263
Tragwerk (wing) 190.00-261,262,264
H?henleitw. (horizontal stabilizer) 190.00-265
Seitenleitw. (vertikal stabilizer) 190.00-266
In the beginning of the recording all footage of the aircraft, taxying and flying, is of the prototype with the big spinner. Not until later are other aircraft shown.
This makes me believe that the assembly of the prototype is "detailed", not a series variant.
If this is really the case, then there?s nothing wrong with my eyesight after all and everyone is right!?
Could the end of my boring You all to death be this happy?
