Not an easy question! I've met British WWII veterans who still have serious hatred of the Germans (though none of those vets were pilots, oddly enough). My father, who was sunk in the Falklands, has tons of respect for the Argentine pilots - but still thinks very little of the 'Argies'. Personally I don't think much of them either - but then nearly losing your father kinda colours your views on these matters. So the Argies will cease being 'the enemy' to me when I'm no longer around. I suspect it's the same with a lot of people; the enemy just IS.
