About March 27 or so. The Robert Warren 'N, in her original 49th FG colours as "Little Jeanne". Stunning, white leading edges and white tail. Beautiful. She featured on the weekly 1/2 hour documentary called Australian Story. This episode featured RAAF North Africa ace Andrew "Nicky" Barr and the guy who is writing his memoirs. Excellent story and excellent footage of the P-40 starting up and taxiing out for her ff. Nice low pass too. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
Nicky Barr was shot down several times and made a habit of coming back, even escaping as a POW and working behind the lines. Peter, a physio, lost his father on the Kokoda Trail and, in trying to understand his father's generation and the war, discovered Nicky Barr and his story which has to be told.
If you're interested in the transcript of this episode, go to:

Follow the transcript link at the bottom of that page. What you'll read will make more sense than what I've typed above!
A hero in absolutely every sense of the word, and I think this is why we have the passion that we all share for these men and their machines.
Cheers
