Book Review: Spitfire, The History

I have been looking for a book with Spitfire ?details?, and I have found it. In ?Spitfire, The History? there is not only a long and detailed history about the development the design and development of the Spitfire, but it also lists all the serials, the TOS and SOS dates and squadron information for each airframe.
In addition, the appendix includes; a list of the different type numbers (manufacturer models and mark designations), a summary of the serial block allocations, a summary of the build contracts, a summary of the different spitfire engines, and the service entry dates for all airframes. Earlier in the book there is also a list of the airframes that participated in the Battle of Britain.
The same information I have highlighted above is also provided for the Seafire and Spiteful.
This is an excellent book. My only concern is that I won?t be able to absorb it all before I have to return it to the library. Now off to find a copy of my own?
Regards,
Mike
