According to the Tempest website someone mentioned earlier (it's an awesome site!) the wings came from the RAF along with the MkV fuselage in exchange for the Tempest II that Nick Grace had. I believe that the Tempest II wings that the RAF had were mentioned in Jagan's original post as having come from the Indian Airforce after a request from the RAF in the mid-sixties. Kermit of course got the lot from Carolyn Grace in about 1992. It is so sad that Nick died, for many reasons, especially as he was such a great chap. But had Nick been alive, I am sure that the Tempest V would be close to flying now, if it wasn't already. The Tempest would likely have been flown a lot too, which is unlikely under Kermit's ownership, as he rarely lets anyone fly his aircraft other than himself. He has a great museum though, and a great commitment to authenticity and preserving unique or almost unique airframes.
Cheers,
Richard
: The wings from Kermit's MKV are from a MKII, although I do
: n't know which aircraft, they were supposed to be from one
: of the WoGB a/c as far as I can tell.
