Richard
I have some photos of the Chippenham one as it is now....contact me by email and I will send the better ones!
I am still hoping that I will find a few days in which to build a web site so that I can have a gallery in which to put such photos!
Regarding complete Tyffies, parts are so rare from the wings that most people will have great difficulty. My Father and I elected just to do a cockpit as we both do not have the capacity in time and space/dosh to do more. I should concentrate on the Hurri really!!!

: Thanks for the follow-up Tony. It is good to know that the
: re is a serious effort afoot on several counts to get a go
: od example of the Typhoon built/re-built. Just out of curi
: ousity, how much of the aircraft will have to be built fro
: m scratch?
:
: With regards to the sacrificial anode corrosion, I am only
: too aware of that, having some of the dumped Royal Navy c
: orsair parts that were recovered in Australia a number of
: years ago.... it is amazing how the steel bits and the ano
: dized aluminium forgings survived really well, while the a
: lodined parts (with some exceptions) were mostly rubbish..
: . not to mention the magnesium bits which simply disappear

:
: I wish you the best of luck with your project... and if yo
: u need any drawings converted into 3D, please let me know

:
: PS. Are there any photos out there of "the Chippenham one"
: ...
:
: : The Chippenham one was quite nice and will yield a very
: ni
: : ce fuselage up to the tail break, still has engine mount
: o
: : n it too. The reason there are so many projects was the
: re
: : covery of the Typhoon remains in the early 90s in Glouce
: st
: : ershire. Best part of 40 to 100 Tyffies were cut up and
: th
: : e joints buried. A huge number of Tyffie stix were found
: .
: : Excellent (though sad) example of sacrificial anode corr
: os
: : ion....basically the sticks were like new but for the ma
: gn
: : esium alloy spade grips that had been sacrificed. The br
: ak
: : e lever hung off on it bowden cable and the electo pneum
: at
: : ic gun button dangled on its wire.
: :
: : Regarding pooling, several of the projects are helping e
: ac
: : h other. I lent Jet Age my instrument panel which will y
: ie
: : ld me a useable pair, and provide all the others with a
: pa
: : ttern. I am also swapping spare controls for parts to ge
: t
: : our cockpit advanced. It would be nice if it was a bit m
: or
: : e formalised but anyway, at the end of the day, several
: co
: : llections will add an example of this fine aircraft. I s

: : :
: : : I must say that I am absolutely amazed at all of the p

: : n
: : : o idea there were so many potential restoration projec
