I made an inquiry (via email) to the National Aviation Museum here in Ottawa regarding the identity of the Lancaster cockpit section on display at floor level. I am not refering to their complete example, KB944. Actually the cockpit section display is interesting since it allows you to see the; bomb aimer, pilot, co-pilot and engineer positions. It also has a plexiglass back where it would have atttached to the rest of the fuselage.
In my inquiry I asked about the identity of the airframe from which this piece was obtained. I have made inquiries to museum before, but it takes them a looooong time to respond. I plan to ask questions in person the next time I visit, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone on WIX already knows the answer.
Anyone?
Regards,
Mike
