I heard different stories -- though I have to say if the version I heard was correct it will have done nothing for the restoration movement at all and will have only made British Aerospace tighten the reins even more.
Sadly, only one or two individuals benefited from this from what I was told - to the detriment of hundreds of well meaning and serious enthusiasts.
I'll try and make it my business to find out what the official story is on drawings etc. from British Aerospace and then perhaps we could do some lobbying. I like the idea of a trust and believe this may have been mooted (perhaps it still is) at fairly high level within BAe a few years ago. I guess that with a shrinking aerospace industry management at BAe have higher priorities......
