The parts usually needed for any vintage engine rebuild are usually the Mag parts, usually castings, and these are renowned for rotting from DB's and Jumo's come to that. The boss was telling me of someone he knows who is rebuilding a couple of Jumo 211's and will need to remake some castings (very expensive) if he can't find replacements if they are to run again. I remember reading about Black six when the piston went during her flying career, I think that Russ Snadden managed to source a replacement from Germany somewhere. As for Sabres Tony, how many do you have? and what sort of nick are they in? I think one could be got running given enough parts are available or money isn't a problem (Kermit).
