Kermit would like to get her flying, no surprise there. We have two Sabres for the a/c, it'll probably take both to get one running although Tony is good mates with a very good engine rebuilder who is, in my book, the only person capable of getting a Sabre running now. Nick Grace was planning to restore it to flying condition when he owned it but ended up starting the rebuild to static. All of this work will have to be redone and if you ever put the RAFM fuselage next to EJ693 and compared the two you would realise just how much work and searching will need to be done to fully restore the fuselage. The horizontal stabilizers will need many new parts making as will the rudder. The entire rear fuselage and rudder post will have to be totally stripped and rebuilt as the original rivets used have a high magnesium content and do not age too well. I would love to get her flying again, dunno what the Sabre would sound like though, an old Kiwi engineer once told me that "they sound like a flying bag of nails when the're up and they don't always stay up!" hmmmmmm.
