Hello Ross,

There was an article in Aeroplane Montly during the early or mid nineties about this wreck. It was largely buried but the shifting of the bottom (shingle) had completely removed the top of the fuselage. The wingskins had apparently dissapeared leaving the wingspars exposed. IN fact a section of the wingspar was brought op and this was in relatively good condition.

According to this article and a conversation I had with Giuseppe Lombardi of the Stirling Project some time ago, the aircraft was very difficult to recover, it would be too expensive and there was a chance that it would fall apart.

There was also a photograph showing one of the Hercules engines lying on the seabed.

Hope this helps,

Cees
