At least in my opinion, the issue here is that an Apache is a VERY rare bird, moreso than a P51B/C as far as I know.

There's also the issue of historical integrity - no doubt they had to modify Apache parts and even if you rebuild them back to Apache parts there's going to be less originality.
They are inanimate objects, it's true - but is a brand new replica the same as an original WWII plane?

It's quite interesting that this same debate rages in all forms of preservation, and is as heated too!
