This was the aircraft that came over to Europe in 1977 for a couple of months as N5747 - and was the first Mustang I ever saw, but only fleetingly as I went into maths class at school. I believe Doug Arnold was having a play with it. Don't think I learned much maths that day and I blame the poor P-51 for my complete inability to cope with algebra, and for the start of an obsession with Mustangs that runs nearly as deep as Paul Coggan's!
Certainly was an ill-starred aircraft.
