Inverted Merlin.....possible to do ???

I'm sure that everyone will think I have finally Fell Off The Wall....but....

Is it at all possible to invert a Merlin, same as the DB engines were ?

Possible or Impossible???

I've always wondered about it as an alternative to DB engines for all those Hispanos.
