Some yrs ago (about 20) I had a long chat with Clay Lacy. Amongst the aircraft discussed was Dwight Brooks' Lysander.
Clay Lacy knew Dwight B. He told me that DB spent a lot of money on restoring the a/c, incorporating some of his own mods (IIRC), and then flew it very little, ultimately gifting it to USAFM. Perhaps DB enjoyed the engineering challenge the most.
