This was 'Tally Ho' bellonging to Wayne Meylan. He and passenger John Colton III were killed in it when it crashed while flying in formation with another P-51 along the Lake Michigan shore.(it crashed on land, not in the water) Shortly afterwards I saw the recovered wreckage in Bob Byrne's hanger at Detroit City Airport, and there wasn't much left. The largest pieces were the engine and a section of the forward wing spar containing both landing gear legs. The NTSB has a summary of the accident at their web site (www.ntsb.gov ... look for June 26, 1987, Ludington. MI). Anyone know if the paperwork for this one still exists? Jim
