:Although not part of the CAF, The zero on display at the Olympic Flight Museum is one of the original movie planes. It was in Tora,Tora,Tora, Battle of Midway, War and Remembrance and Iron Eagle III.
It was originally a Harvard MK-IV, CCF-4-16, RCAF 20225. It is now registered as NX15796 and marked as 3-183. It has been modified quite a bit over the years. It has a P&W R-1830 and cowl flap linkage from an ex-Canadian DC-3, a retractable tail wheel made from a BT-13 unit, fiberglass wingtips, extended rudder, modified flaps, spinner & backing plate from a Howard 250, propane guns, a fairly realistic looking instrument panel, metalized and modified elevators, modified wing leading edge profile, extended(partially scratch built)main gear legs, modified canopy & windscreen and a well hidden (fairly comfortable) aft facing rear seat. It is roughly the same weight as a stock T-6, but has nearly twice the horse power and is quite a bit cleaner aerodynamicly. It is a really hot performer!
