Thanks for the heads-up Tony :) Those being ex-RNFAA aircraft could very well mean that they are candidates for possible recovery without the invariable headache of dealing with the US Navy.

I'd be curious to know more about the nature of the water where river and ocean merge. I wonder if there is enough back surge (if any) to have caused salt water corrosion to the airframes over time. Heck, the Japanese might even have recovered them following the forced landings, although I doubt Japanese resources would have allowed such a venture at that point in time (July 1945). Beyond that, depending on the strength of 57 years worth of river current, the airframes could well have been deposited into the ocean.

Might be worth dropping a line to Bob Mester, or any of our other underwater recovery specialists just to have it on record.
