Went down to Dux. yesterday and the progress on the B-24 is stunning. Centre section of the wing now fitted to forward fuselage & the re-assembly process is happening fast.
Al the major sections have bee internally cleaned and painted and re-assembly. Externally some sections have been polished achieving a wonderful finish (especially when you saw the state she arrived in).
Also have started painting her as 'Dugan', the a/c of Colonel Robert Vickers, then of the 578th Bomb Squadron, 392nd BG Wendling, Norfolk. Nose art nearly finished and most of the roundels have been painted.
Obviously alot of internal refitting still to be done - but the target of getting her in the American Air Museum by August begins to look achievable.
Apart from that not much else happening - progress on P-51C and Yak 9's still slow.
