I am sure that most of us know of his vast collection. Walter is an amazing personality. His personal sacrifices saved more than two dozen aircraft, which are now finding there way to various restoration shops around the country. I met him and visited his "farm" a few times in the middle and late 80's. It was amazing roaming the "jungle" of aircraft he ammassed. The F2G is now with Bob Odegaard being restored for the Crawford Museum of Cleveland. She will be airworthy sans plumbing and engine. The F-82 is being restored in Anoka for C&P Aviation. A B-25 was removed and I believe was restored to flying condition...or at least that was the intention. An ultra rare Curtis Owl was sent to the Yanks Museum of Chino. There are still some great aircraft still on show and will eventually be recovered. I know there is a P-63, a P-51K and another P-82 stuffed inside the B-36. There is an FG-1D still in NAS Akron markings parked with her wings folded. Walter has taken as best of care as he can of these aircraft. Bob Odegaard commented that his oiling of the F2G airframe minimized corrosion to almost nil. Walter has done this to all his airframes. This is one of the last great treasure troves of intact airframes from WWII and Korea.
