I think Mik means Vichy stuff, or RAF equipment left after the war..
Also, i remember a Dirk Bogarde film, where they mounted a raid on an italian airfield , and there were an awful lot of SM 79's on the airfield, and I believe it was filmed in the Lebanon, but was supposed to represent a Rhodes airfield
