Tempest 5 engine problems

There are two sides to this tale. On one side Napier say that there was nothing wrong with the engines, just the eternal tinkering of RAF erks. On the erk's side I've spoken to a 501 sqn fitter who was telling me of the difficulties that he and his chums had to endure throughout the time that they operated the beast. One of the biggest problems seems to have been on startup when the engines would set fire to themselves, very unnerving! As I said in my other message I'm going to try talking to the Napier Power Heritage group as to get Kermit's example running will require much input from them I think.
