Dear Peter and Tony;

Yikes! This post may turn out to be a tempest in a teapot.

As soon as Peter Millan posted his thread [down a few] I hit the link and looked at the photos of the bits and pieces Giard is selling. I haven?t done any research on the two suspected sources [wreck s/no.] that should take a few days. I immediately contacted the Air Defense Museum in Bagotville, PQ and gave them the name and address of the individual and asked if they know of him ? no response as of the Cdn holiday this weekend.
A very sad story came to light when I got an email from Lt. C Gauthier [Curator] a few months ago about a posting I placed on their www.site message board [link later]. I read in FLYPAST in 1992 that a Hurricane had been found by a group of logger breaking a road into a region for clear cutting not far from the base. The Museum seems to have been contacted about the matter and an article also appeared in the local paper. I am not clear if the Museum official[s] went up to look at the wreck in February. But when the spring met came and the team went up to investigate. What they found was that the logging team had dug up the wreck and moved in for a road placement. Someone had gone to the wreck prior to that or after and pretty much stripped it clean, but not entirely. One of the volunteers went up later with a metal detector and found the pilots RAF ring and a cap badge. Those pieces thank god are safe in the museum! Can?t remember the serial number or the pilot?s name.
I do have a name at the DND in Ottawa that is somewhat in charge of this and when I find his email I will send it to you ASAP. Also in the works of contacting my research friends, one of which as been doing this much longer then me and I hope he has something on this person. Mail you later! Lee ? Toronto, Canada

Tony thanks for that hit on the CCG wreck info. Currently working with 4-5 levels of Govt to see if this plan of locating the aircraft and recovering it could ever happen. Could take awhile!
