I'm just glad to hear the pilots actually made it out of this one alive. Sounds like it was one hell of a ride for those guys. Its a shame something possibly as trivial as a stuck thermostat could totally destroy such a priceless plane.

Does anyone know the history of this particular P-51? Please don't tell me it was a combat veteran with 5 kills to its record! ;)
