: yup. drag is redused by exiting 90' from the fus.. that was a + for the cousair.. the bent wing came from the prop chance vaught wanted to use and the fact that using that prop requied a long gear leg... not good for shipboard work.. they bent the wing to solve the long gear problem and got a added + in the drag department.. now for the bearcat... it was a 1942/43 design and the coesair was acctually a 1940/41 design... grumman and shock technology advanced enough that gumman came up with a better idea to solve the problem but the aircraft never made it to the war. remember that as technology advances we build better mouse traps....
