Thanx for the heads up Mike, what aircraft is the contraption the spade grip is fitted to at the moment off?! It appears to have a USA B5 grip on the front stick?!
looks quite nice, it actually has a pure pneumatic gun button. Does it still have the pipes coming out the back of the button? Does it have a brake catch and mount for a brake lever?
The 2040, although some may be fitted to current flying Spits, was destined for such beauties as the Hurricane, Whirlwind, Swordfish and T6 Havard. The latter is most recognised by not having a brake catch or a brake lever mount as it obviously had toe brakes. However, any AH2040 (if in good enough condition) can be fitted with these missing items.
I cannot believe how sad I am to know this!! Watch out for my identifying control column grips book in 2 or 3 years time (boy that'll be a best seller....NOT!)
Regards
Tony
