I think that Tallichet's Gnats were used in that Top Gun spoof movie (it was so bad, I've forgotten it's name!).

I haven't been in Tallichet's Chino yard in years, but many of the airframes that were there at one time have now been moved to points unknown (at least by me).

Don't get confused though, as there are now some other Gnats at Chino, including a green fuselage which showed up a few weeks ago. There is a red one which flies pretty regularly as well.

As usual, my post is devoid of the specific details you seek...but I recall that all of Tallichet's Gnats were more or less derelict, at least as compared to the airworthy (or nearly so) ones coming into the US from the UK.
