G'day mate,
Just looked back into Archive 3, at the last posting that I made about Spitfire LZ842, and noticed that you had made a response to that. With regards to the port wing that Ross has for the Spit, it not only appears to be in excellent condition externally, but particularly so internally. Paintwork seems fine, and from the inspection I made, there is no reason to assume that any serious (or probably even minor) corrosion exists.
I haven't seen the starboard wing that Ross apparently has now. The Classic Wings news piece surprised even me with that one. Engine wise, Ross did have one very nice engine, which has subsequently travelled to England. However, he didn't let go of that one before he had found another one still on its original cradle. I assume that it is this engine which he now has installed in the airframe, although there is a possibility that it could be another one which he apparently acquired from down my part of Australia, within the last 6 months.
Last I heard, Ross had no specific plans to ground run the Spit, although this guy is always surprising me, so you never know what could happen down the track.
Another issue I would like to discuss with you, has something to do with PPS, and some non-warbird work it has done in the past. Consequently, it should be done off board. Would it be possible for you to e-mail me at the above address? Would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt
