Hi Cees.

Yes I know about the RAFM example restored by TFC, when I went to Duxford while they were restoring it, they also had in the corner of the hanger, another Tempest II fuselage, split at the production break with the rear fuselage standing on it's end, and a wing or two if I remember rightly.
I asked one of the workers if it was a future project for TFC, and he said that they were for spares use for the RAFM one, and that anyway the Tempests were crap aeroplanes, with too many problems to solve, so he didn't think TFC would ever aquire one....strangely....I thought the Beau and their late P38 came into the "Too many problems to solve" category, and they bought them......

But then I was also told by one of the workers that TFC would most definitely be keeping The P40 Tomahawk, and under no circumstances would it ever be sold........

I live in hope however , that they will aquire a Tempest II one day, along with a Seafire, Firefly, 109, 190, Zero, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc....oh.....and somehow get that P61 Black Widow out of China, another must have fighter type for the world's premier warbird collection.
If a Harrier for a Lavochkin LA 9 is a fair trade...then what would be a fair trade for a P61........?

Regarding Typhoons Cees, there is a beautiful Typhoon cockpit at Duxford, which I am sure could be made to fly very easily...along with that Typhoon rear fuselage from the French museum which I saw in Flypast years ago..the Sabre that Tony told me about...and some new build wings etc etc etc....and VOILA !!!...one complete and airworthy Tiffy for TFC to fly for our pleasure...and before anyone tells me...I know how much it would cost and how "difficult" it would be...
...but you gotta have a dream, or how're ya gonna make your dream come true......

Ta Ta
Mick
