.....Other noteworthy sights are the remains of an old whale carcass on the edge of town (estimated to be between 350 and 800 years old and still of pungent odor); the wreckage of a World War II Lancaster bomber that crashed near Hall Lake in the mid-1950s while carrying supplies during construction of the DEW Line station; and five waterfalls in a steep rivercanyon at Nunaparvik, about 70 kilometres south of town near Roche Bay.
