I looked up the Afghan Air Force history last night in a good source. Even till the early 50s, they were still flying some of their Hinds, and a very few Harts. Until the Russians started giving them 'aid' (mid to late 50s, IIRC) their most modern a/c were some Anson 18s bought from UK.

Did the 2 Hinds given to the UK (1960s?) represent the absolute last of their biplanes, or did a few linger on? Is anything likely still to exist in the country? Maybe the Russians helped themselves to some relics after moving in proper c 1980?
