TV Review (UK) 'Spitfire Squadron' GREAT!!

I don't know when or where thjis was filmed (it mentioned the History Channel and Copyrighted 2000). But this was a really good bitr of quality TV. With recreations, archiv e film and interviews including Bob Doe and Alex Henshaw.

I loved the 'first flight' of K5054 that was recreated using a static prototype (Spitfire Societies?) and real engine noises and smoke and not actually showing the actual plane taxing.. Very clever!

Also the sratup sequence. with the external starter being applied and remove. Who else would detail this bit of vital work!

There was even examples of constuction using a rebuild (don't who where or when) with undercarriage tests. Also fitting the fuselage sheeting using those funny long clips temporary clips I see in all the photos. Don't know the name of these widgits, but it is the first time I have seen them fitted. Didn't know you need a special tool!

Well done 10/10

Oh and Commando as well that followed., by hell those two old boys showing how to break a neck, do un-armed combat, knife fight, disarm a bayonet charge and storm a house etc fightened the hell out of me. And they could still do it all in there 80s!
