I didn't know that P40F's got that far, I was under the impression that they were only used in N Africa/ Mediterranean? Shame the engine is in such a state if you could see the supercharger it would be easier to compare with an Allison. My thoughts would be for it being an 'E' model looking at my '49th FG' book.
