I may be talking myself out of me job here lol... But seriously now, the Yak you speak of is the 1b that Hawker Restorations are doing up for Guy Black, that photo of it when the Russians had literally just dragged it out of the lake is one of the most evocative shots that I've ever seen. You were right about the Mig too. Tony has a picture of a fully restored MIG 1!!! that was residing in Moscow when last heard of. Also there was (and maybe still is) a genuine Me262 that the Russians liberated along with it's pilot and groundcrew from Germany at the end of WWII. It was still flying in the '70's!!! The only reason that it was grounded was that the tyres were worn out! It was last heard of whilst up for sale at a cool $3mil, start counting yer pennies lads! Oh and the pilot was finally released in the late 70's after being forced to fly it since his capture, being imprisoned in the meantime. There's still loads out there and we haven't even touched the surface yet, it's just a matter of making the right connections (hmmmmm).

Tom ;) (ever the optimist)
