Did you know that the Nimrod MR2's that flew in the Falklands were armed with Sidewinders NOT as a self defence measure but to try and shoot down an Argentinian 707 that they had encountered shawdowing the task force. According to a Group Captain that was was on operation Corporate. They were the only aircraft that were likely to encounter the 707. However I do remember Sharky Ward chasing one 707 away but that may have been before hostilities. Does this make the Nimrod the biggest fighter aircraft in the world? Prehaps it should be redesignated FMR 2
