Mick your maths is nearly right. But I would make it eiher: 44-6634, 44-6635 or 44-6636 (ish) but this is near enough and no other B-17s nearby were in the Med theatre. I have asked on the TOCH web site if anybody else has further info. Cp KIA should be Captain Killed, but cannot find a loss for a Emerson for this date on the US War Graves site. Of course the pilot may not have been Captain especially if training flight!
