Thanks Mike.
Trouble is with that particular DC-3, it has something in common with the name of a certain 1940's movie and a piece of P47 nose-art........namely "I Wanted Wings"......and engines etc etc etc..............and it's the only aeroplane that museum has, so I don't think they would let me have it.
Anyone here friendly with the Dakota folks at Coventry ?
I could ask them myself but knowing my luck and me being a relative no-body in this biz, I would probably get the answer which is slightly shorter than yes..........
According to Flypast they have a couple left to dispose of after donating one to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington, and another to RAF Brize Norton gate.
Or if there is a wealthy Very Nice Man elsewhere with a spare Dak to donate for an 82nd Airborne Memorial display in my home town ?
And I promise that it will never rot into the ground while I'm still breathing !
